Brett,

Count me in for Jan. 26-27.

I will bring propane, burner, carboy, cooler, etc. Per your request, please
calculate my efficiency at about 0%,

.and my appreciation for beer & BBQ at about 100%.

Gary

Subject: [COHO] All Grain Barrel Filling Brew

Just wanted to give everyone an update on our inter club barrel brew. I
have an order in with Tom for the 200 + lbs of grain that we'll be using. I
have 22 lbs of specialty Panela unrefined sugar coming in from Austin
Homebrew Supply, along with three pounds of Nugget, Summit, and Amarillo
hops from Freshops. The beer will be a strong, dark, American ale that
comes in around 1.090 OG. Roughly 50 gallons in all. Gary Wirt has offered
up his massive cellar to store this barrel brew. Several of you have
expressed interest in doing this brew together as a group, which sounds
great to me. I had hoped to get this going on the weekend of January 26-27,
so please let me know if that works for you. I've been collecting info from
various club members as to the grain pound capacity of their mashtuns, and
the efficiency of the brew systems. This will allow me to calculate the
proper recipe for everyone's individual systems. Here's a quick list of
possible participating brewers -

Myself

Brian and Geoff Marlowe

Tim Howe

Gary Wirt

Ryan Gibson

Bill Herrick

Jason Quade

Evan Clark?

Kris Cate?

BBQ Tom?

We'll need lots of burners , blow off tubes, and at least 9-10 carboys. I'd
be more than happy to host this massive undertaking at my place, on the
aforementioned weekend. I'd like to shore up the details at next weeks
meeting if possible. I think it would be pretty neat to get so many people
together brewing at one time. Please share your thoughts on this subject,
and I'll see you all at the meeting next week!
