[COHO] COHO update - HOTV info

Greetings all COHOers,

Here's what's on deck for HOTV.  Mike and I are headed over early Friday afternoon for first round homebrew competition judging, with Michelle Taliercio and Dylan following along shortly thereafter.  There should be plenty of fun for anyone who makes the trip over the hills.  Within a half mile of the downtown motel strip is - 

McMenamins Pub

Fox & Firkin Pub - 25+ taps.

Squirrels Tavern - 30+ taps and also the pick up / drop off location for the shuttle to the festival.

Old World Deli - great selection of tasty food and home to the Oregon Trail Brewery (owned by Freshops' Dave Wils).

Corvallis Brewing Supply / Whiteside Beer and Wine - half homebrew store, half specialty beer and wine shop.

We were thinking about breakfast and a game of disc golf on Saturday morning, then on to some lunch, and then out to fairgrounds around 2:30PM.  We'll be there for the award ceremony, mega-raffle, and for the start of the microbrew festival.  The beers at last years event were outstanding.

We have a room reserved at the Super 8 motel next to the river, but there's a ton of other inexpensive lodging in the area.  I just searched it out on expedia.  Mike, Jim Spencer, and I went to this event last year and it was fantastic fun.  The beers were great, the music was great, the food was great, the weather was great, and the venue offered plenty of room for everyone.  Best of all we didn't have to drive after the event - the festival shuttle bus runs between Squirrels Tavern and the fairgrounds throughout the event.  We're also looking forward to the results of the competition as there's several COHO members with entries - myself, Geoff Marlowe, Mike, Matt and Kristin, and I think Bill might even have one in there as well.  I'm also going to contact Dave Wils to see if we can tour his brewery again, it was a blast when Mike and I went through last year.  We actually helped him fix a sink, with a hammer - long story.
