Hey Mike,
I think you guys(gals) are doing a great job with the club. I wish
that I could be more involved with the group but I have a million things
going on right now with little time to enjoy one of my core passions,
zymurgy. I really enjoy the fellowship of beer with you guys when I do
get the time however. I'm trying to put together a 55 gal. brew system
in between my chaotic schedule, so when that's completed we could have
some bonzer brew sessions at my place. As an aside, I have 60 gal. of
beer in various stages of transition so I'm looking pretty good going
into the summer, if it ever gets here that is. I have a Czech Pils
lagering right now that looks promising, I would love to bring a keg of
that to a club function for assessment. Prost, Richard.

The COHO brew this weekend will be at my place. We'll start
brewing at about 10:30am, setting up a little earlier.
I live on the west side of bend, off of 14th St., between
Newport and Galveston. The address is 1459 NW Kingston Avenue.
Sometime during the brew we'll have a beer judging session with
the Angry Rooster IPA that we did and Michelle's Belgian Saisson. Both
were entered in the Heart of the Valley Homebrew contest and we have the
judges score sheets. I figured that we could judge them ourselves and
compare our results with those of the certified judges.
Also, I was in Lowe's today and bought a turkey fryer for $20.
If you're looking for one to brew with, you should check it out. There
was only one left at about 5pm. It's a 65K Btu Eastman Outdoors. It's
big enough to hold a sanke keg/ keggle and comes with a 7.5gal Al pot,
thermometer, and other stuff for frying turkeys. Great for doing all
grain brews and full boil extracts.
We'll need 3 carboys and 1 tank of propane for Sunday. I was
thinking of doing a 5 gal batch sparge brew on the side since I have
this turkey fryer burner and a mash tun cooler. We can brew it at the
same time as the Oktoberfest, like we did at Brett's for the Big Brew,
only with more mash stirring! JK
I'll have some stuff to eat and the grill will be hot, plus the
Big Beaver Pale Ale.
That's it for now.
Cheers
-Mike
