[COHO] concept: hops

I think that there needs to be two or three different versions of the graphics, one for monochromatic printing (ie. etched glass) a low color version for screen printing, and a full color version for the website and perhaps more elaborate screen printing.

As for the fish graphic, although the fish smiling and holding a mug sounds fun, I think that the graphic that we display to the public should at least attempt to be as professional as possible...meaning a little less cartoonish.

The image that I saw in my head was if you were sitting on the bank of a river, and you held up the COHO label as a picture frame, the fish would be jumping through the label. Simple, natural, and somewhat realistic. Something that you would expect to see on a beer label of a commercial micro-brewery.

Yeah. Each "petal" needs to have more of a point and some texture to it. All I really did was make a couple different sized of oval, color them with a green to yellow gradient, and overlap them. For the "base" I merged two ovals. Looking at some pictures of hops, I think they need large swaths of yellow going down the sides and more of a pinecone look like you said. I guess I could even color it with some yellow spots to give Mike his lupulin glands.
My girlfriend was actually the first one to inform me of my suckage (can always count on her). She said they looked like wings. One of my goals was to make it simple enough to etch on a glass.

I think we have the same pic in our head. The fish is sort of facing you, curled tail, the redish and blue-silver colors were what I was using (based on some actual coho pics). I was going for a bit of a cartoon feel with the fish smiling with a beer in one hand -- like Michelle's original idea. Maybe a bit of "splash" at the tail... The one I was trying to draw looked like it came right out of Finding Nemo.

We should try to make it have a very defined outline so it can be etched on glasses. Also, silk screening T-Shirts may be easier if we use as few colors as possible(?) Not really sure what the constraints there would be.
