Hey Tim,
I know that Precise Flight has nice Aluminum O2 tanks. I'm not sure what they cost, but I can find out. Also, I think Norco probably has O2 tanks. You don't need a very large one. The ones that Morebeer.com sells are 5 pound steel tanks I think, and they sell the empty tanks for about $80. I don't think you need a tank that large though. I have one about half that size and I think it will last me at least another dozen batches or so.
I'm still trying to figure out how to use mine. I think I have been OVER oxygenating my wort on the last few batches. My lag time has been around 12 hours, which isn't any better than what I was getting before oxygenating. I've been letting it bubble for about 5 minutes before pitching my yeast, which allows a big fluffy head of O2...but from what I've read, if you over oxygenate, it can actually kill off a large portion of your yeast. I think on my next batch I'll try just letting it bubble for like 2 minutes or so and see if it makes any difference.
Does anyone else in the club have any input?
