Too hoppy for an IPA, who ever heard of such nonsense.
Update on the group brew this weekend.
As always we start brewing at 10:30AM. The available ingredients leaves us with what looks like a pretty tasty American Brown Ale. The grain bill consists of pale 2 row, chocolate malt, honey malt, aromatic, British crystal, and some German CaraAroma. Hops will be New Zealand organic pacific gem, willamette, and crystal. I have two starters of harvested American ale yeast in the works. We'll be brewing on my system as Tyler's is in various stages of construction and modification.
Dylan will also be working on a Blackberry Mead for the group brew. He made a great sacrifice to obtain a large volume of fruit and honey for this brew so thank him when you get the chance. This will be COHO's first observance of AHA national mead making day.
Here's the host and location info for the event from Thom:
My address is 60280 Ridgeview Drive East
To get here from Hwy. 97 go south to China Hat. Left on China Hat. Turn left
on Knott Rd. Take the second right on to Pine Vista. Follow Pine Vista to
the stop sign. Go straight at the stop sign. When the road makes a hard
right turn it becomes Ridgeview Dr. My driveway is on the left across from
Coventry Cir.
If you get lost or need further directions call at:
Home 322-0207
Cell 503-250-2321
We have almost all the supplies in hand, but could use :
a couple of full tanks of propane
some Munchies
Lots of COHO folks
and anything that Dylan is currently lacking (brewpot and separate burner?)
You all can call me at 948-4504. Hope to see everyone on Sunday!
Brett

Ditto, my IPA had too much hop bitterness. Isn't this the pacific northwest?
Have a great brew on Sunday. Wish I could be there for it.
Cheers!
