[Bendug] editing large wav files

I honestly don't know what can be done for this on *nix.  I have used Cool Edit
on Windows for large wav file edits like this.  Also, be sure to have as much
RAM in the machine doing this as possible.  There are a few newer audio editing
programs for Linux available, and I plan to try these to replace Cool Edit, but
I have yet to play with them.
