[Bendug] bendug website

I just tried the Plone demo. I like the clean interface. A lot of the
other CMS things I've looked at are really cluttered. The allowable
MIME types is huge. Plus, I am a sucker for a site that has nice popup
calendar choosers. That's something I always wanted to learn to to in
JavaScript. Although Plone seems to have a French bent... "Juillet" for
July? The French have a long, glorious history of screwing us over! My
wifes of French descent, and I have to abuse her about that
periodically.

I have worked with Postnuke, but I wanted to go a little more
advanced...
MySQL isn't any easier than PostgreSQL, it's just a little more common.
PostgreSQL actually has more "enterprise" features, though I don't think
any of the common CMSes use them. Some accounting packages use
PostgreSQL for these reasons. I think Perl is easier than PHP mostly
because I have used it and I trust it to be a more secure solution (when
correct taint checking is done, etc...).
Plone is on a higher level than Postnuke. It's appears to be best of
breed according to people in the know about such things. Also, it has
more features than even WebGui, which is no slouch. I think it will do
quite nicely. After using Postnuke, I have too many gripes about it.
